Stefanie Lindstaedt

Stefanie Lindstaedt is the Founding President of Interdisciplinary Transformation University (IT:U) in Austria. She is establishing IT:U as a public university for transformation that combines interdisciplinary research and project-based education with artificial intelligence and other digital technologies.

Previously, she headed the Institute of Interactive Systems & Data Science at Graz University of Technology and led the Know-Center (Austria’s Research Center for Trustworthy AI) for 13 years.

Stefanie’s research focuses on AI for Education and Knowledge Management. Her interdisciplinary research combines methods from Machine Learning and Neural Networks with symbolic approaches (neurosymbolic AI) to support personalized learning, learning in teams, and organizational learning. She has published more than 200 scientific papers.

Stefanie holds M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Computer Science from the University of Colorado Boulder and completed her habilitation at Graz University of Technology.

As an Executive Fellow, Stefanie will contribute her experience in artificial intelligence, interdisciplinary innovation, institutional transformation, and the future of education.
